To enjoy Zumobi you’ll need the following:

• A mobile phone running Windows Mobile 5 or 6
• A data plan with your mobile phone service provider (we strongly recommend this be an unlimited data plan)

While Zumobi is compatible with most phones running Windows Mobile 5 or 6, we find the application runs best on Windows Mobile 6 phones given their faster processors and higher memory capability.

Blackberry and selected J2ME compatibility is coming early in the second quarter of 2008.

Fast & Fresh

Painful browser loading delays are a thing of the past in the Zumobi experience, thanks to the background synchronization.

Zumobi mobile widgets, unlike traditional mobile browsers, provides background caching which allows the user to interact with information and entertainment even when their phone is beyond wireless service, like on a plane or in a subway.

Personal & Ready to Share
Zumobi users can populate their personal zoom space with informative and custom-designed interactive Tiles are directly relevant and interesting to their needs and lifestyles.

Many Zumobi Tiles can be personalized to show your photos, blogs, and friends, not just generic web sites crunched onto a mobile screen.

Zumobi Tiles can be easily sent via phone to other Zumobi members, allowing communities of friends to quickly embrace, share, and use Tiles targeted to their unique interests.

Design
Zumobi’s unique zooming user interface is based on many years of Human-Computer Interaction research.

Since new phones launch every week, with a wild diversity of screen resolutions, input hardware, and orientation, we took this into consideration when we built the Zumobi adaptive rending platform.

Using these advanced adaptive user interface technologies, the Zumobi user experience adjusts to different devices and modalities: portrait, landscape, numeric keypad, touchscreen, mini-qwerty board, or traditional up/down/left/right navigational controls.

Device Neutrality
The first version of Zumobi will be available for phones with Windows Mobile 5 and 6, with Blackberry and selected J2ME compatibility coming early in the second quarter of 2008.

Open Standards
Developers and mobile app enthusiasts can share in Zumobi too. A Beta version of the Zumobi SDK is now available free to developers. Visit dev.Zumobi.com for details.

Zumobi’s open platform and rich design capabilities allow creativity to really shine with innovative and integrated apps that are easily developed and quickly deployed. Coming in Q2 2008, developers will be able to submit and post their Tiles in the Zumobi Gallery.

Tiles

Fresh, interactive, and visually compelling, widget-like Tiles are at the heart of the Zumobi experience. They deliver snack-sized bites of content on your phone. Tiles make it easier for you to quickly access the highly-focused information or entertainment that’s important to you without having to wait for a mobile web site.

Zooming User Interface

The Zumobi experience is powered by a high-framerate videogame-like rendering technology. Our unique Zooming User Interface (ZUI) was informed by years of information visualization research to understand how people organize information spatially.

With this approach, you can quickly and easily find the items that are important to you, and fly-in to view the latest content - all with a single thumb. Zumobi is designed to adapt to a wide array of different types of phones. Keypad? Keyboard? Touchscreen? No problem.

Zoom Space
Your zoom space is where you can see all 16 of your Zumobi Tiles at once. You can interact with your zoom space by tapping the screen with your finger (for touchscreen phones) or using the phone’s keypad.

Background Synchronization
Even the fastest wireless networks suffer from connection delays. When you’re on-the-go, waiting twenty or thirty seconds for a site to load seems like an eternity. With Zumobi, we’re constantly fetching relevant data for each of your selected Tiles throughout the day. This way, the data is already cached on your phone, waiting for you to zoom & consume. Fresh info. No waiting.

Bouncing
Zumobi’s technologies make it fast and easy for you to “bounce” in and out of your Tiles quickly and conveniently throughout your day. Stay on top of what’s important to you – and have fun doing it – with Zumobi.

Gallery
The Gallery is where you can browse and select from a wide variety of Zumobi Tiles. You’ll also be able to send Tiles from the Gallery directly to your phone or to a friend.

If your friend isn’t using Zumobi yet, sending a Tile from the Gallery will send them an invite to download Zumobi so that they can share in the fun with you.

We’ll be adding new Tiles to the Gallery frequently, and starting in Q1 2008, developers will also have the opportunity to add their Tiles to the Gallery. Download Zumobi and check out the Gallery now!

Sharing Tiles
Each and every Zumobi Tile can be easily sent to other Zumobi members with just a few taps on your phone.

What? Your friends don’t have Zumobi yet? No problem! Sending them a Tile will also send an invite to their phone to download Zumobi.

Zumobi Tiles create a solution through which advertising and marketing communications are highly contextual and personalized.
