Zumobi is building the next generation hybrid of mobile/web applications, for the iPhone, Android and other next-generation mobile devices. Our applications power mobile experiences for consumer brands, entertainment, and sports organizations.
We are looking for an experienced client-side web developer (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) who can work under minimal supervision, in cooperation with our design staff, to create excellent mobile applications. It's an exciting opportunity to work on the future platforms and technologies of the web.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
As a member of an agile development team, you’ll estimate, design and implement web applications in consultation with other software teams and product designers. Work varies by project, but includes both extensive client-side scripting, and the implementation of detailed visual designs with an eye toward performance on mobile networks and devices.
With many smaller projects we have many deadlines, but also great opportunities to learn and improve on how we work as we go. This position requires a high level of time management, personal prioritization, and the ability to work on projects either independently or with a team.
The right developer for this position will also enjoy the challenge of improving our development efficiency and quality, while working in a dynamic (but not chaotic) start-up environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience building web pages from visual comps and other assets, with an extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS, and a willingness to delve into the arcana of mobile browser features and capabilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript (libraries are fine, but you must also understand the language)
- Knowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails or other web development technologies is a plus
- At least 2 years of industry experience, preferably working at a consumer oriented web/mobile company
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as computer science or information systems is highly desired. Other degrees are acceptable if you've got some extremely relevant experience

Responsibilities:
- Gather feature requirements and translate them into usable design solutions
- Create high quality visual designs for the Zumobi web site and Zumobi mobile applications
- Collaborate with a small group of engineers and other designers to produce functionally elegant design solutions that take into consideration web and mobile technologies
- Produce and deliver high quality interactive specifications, prototypes and final assets to the engineering team for implementation

Experience:
